Randomness at the Friday Night Knitting group

Hello everyone,

I do hope that you are all well?

Its well known that I attend the village knitting group with occurs every other Friday from 7pm till 9pm (possible a little longer if my friend and I re convene at the pub for a cheeky glass of wine on the way home!). I would say that I have been going for a little over a year now & I am not quite sure what I expected when I first started other than learning to knit.

Lets start at the beginning that might be easier. I learnt to crochet 6 1/2 years ago when my now 6 year old daughter (little Mooey as she is affectionately know) was growing in my rather fat tummy. I now class my self as well qualified in the crochet department and will tackle the most complex patterns without batting an eyelash. Knitting on the other hand! well I just struggle to grasp the concept of two needles, so just over a year ago I decided to go to the local knitting club which at the time was in the village tearooms and get some assistance in the knitting department.

I had at first envisaged a circle of nana's knitting shreddies when I first started but I have to say that is not the case. Instead there is a mix of individuals with varying skill levels in both knitting and crochet. People that I would not ordinarily meet, I have in the course of attending my local knitting group met some one I now consider to be one of my best friends ID (the said friend that slink of to the pub with for a glass of wine) an we regularly get together and have a glass of wine and off course a knit!

What is more surprising than the knitting group that is not full of nana's knitting shreddies is the rather random conversations that take part during the two hours we are there. lets take last nights rather small group as an example, so we discussed yarn of course and current projects and their progress, all pretty normal considering we are at a knitting group right? we then discuss yarn shops, yarndale (an event that I will be attending with ID) and various other yarn related places/trips, the conversation moves on to tea (mostly tea pigs because who doesn't love teapigs ??? especially chocolate flake which is my total favourite) we discuss books, holidays, dogs, bikes, alarms that go off in the middle of the night, dead pigeons & maggots ( I think dead pigeons & maggots probably the most random of everything to be fair) then onto the merits of social media (My current favourite topic as it is part of my day job) so you see its not all nana's knitting shreddries as I had first thought and a year on the knitting group conversations still manage to make me smile.

Who needs to go clubbing when you can go to knitting group and have random conversations while knitting up a storm??

TIme ...

... Where does it go? Ive neglected all my blogs, yes I did just say all! I have a blogger account & also a tumblr account as well as my Glipho account.

There are several reasons for my neglect. the first reason goes back to when my first blogger account was hacked. I set my new account up but since have encountered many problems which meant I fell out of love with blogging. At this point I set up a tumblr account and discovered Glipho. Ive tried both accounts and find them both great to use in very different ways. The reality is that I can only really use one platform as I don't have the time to manage several platforms! I'm still unsure with the direction my blog is heading and which platform I will be using.

My second reason is time. I have realised over the last few weeks that I have unrealistic expectations on my own time. I expect to much from my time and set myself un realistic goals each day. Now that I have realised this about myself I have started to be more realistic with my goal setting. Do you have unrealistic expectations on your time? I do hope that I am not the only person.

The third is when I get some down time I often spend it knitting, I am currently working on a scarf for Mr. M (My hubby) and any time I am not working my day job or being a mum I want to get on with my projects. Mr. M is also keen to get his new scarf!

So this is an evening in my little house in the corner!

I do hope that I will be able to blog a little more often as I do miss blog world.

I hope that you are all well & I am sorry that I can not follow your blogs still however I do follow blogs on bloglovin as it is the only way I can follow you.

Knitting WIP

Good Morning Lovely People.

I have now been knitting for around a year. Till recently I have knitted only basic squares but I find that gets a little tedious. I thought the time has now come to push my very basic skills.

A good while ago I purchased a magazine that had a rag doll pattern in it with outfits that you can also knit. Well of course the little lady who is coming up for 6 now wanted it. At the time I hadn't learnt to knit so i stored the pattern for later.

Last week I decided it was time, and after a little help in translating the very confusing pattern I set to knitting her. I obviously have not finished her yet but here she is so far...

She is not the most beautiful knitting you have ever seen, however that said I am very proud I have come this far with her.

as any other knitter/crocheter I have many other WIP's at present but this is the one I am the most proud of.

I am linking in with Tami today, pop by and check the other WIP'ers.

I am very sorry but I am still unable to follow any of your lovely blogs but I do keep adding my follows on bloglovin where possible. Just because I don't follow your blog publicly it doesn't mean I am not interested, I just have not figured out the issue with following people as yet.

Thanks for stopping by and reading about my Knitting adventures today.
